We are excited to share the very first edition of the MAST Project Newsletter, highlighting our progress from March 2024 to January 2025. Over this period, our partnership of five core organisations and fourteen associated partners has been working closely with tourism SMEs across Italy, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Key highlights include:

The Kick-off Meeting in Rome, where over 80 organisations gathered to shape the project’s strategic direction.

Our Steering Committee in Barcelona, which finalised the evaluation methodology and launched the first draft of the self-assessment tool.

A comprehensive needs assessment with over 250 SMEs to understand real-world sustainability challenges.

Stakeholder engagement events, including the Info Day in Sarajevo hosted by SMOC and MAST’s presentation at InteriHotel MAD in Madrid and the Pancretan Hospitality Conference in Crete.
Stay tuned as we continue developing practical tools and protocols to help small and medium-sized accommodations transition toward circular, resilient, and sustainable business models.
